The War at Home
Posted: April 1st, 2009 | Author: mil3tt3 | Filed under: my thoughts | No Comments »Last Monday night, I was taken aback by a news that there is yet another entity who have insulted the Filipino people by calling the Philippines – a nation of servants. The phrase was written by Chip Tsao in a column for HK Magazine. At the time I heard the report the article has already been taken down by HK Magazine. But you know how the world wide web is so I was able to read the controversial piece The War at Home in totality.
And here is the phrase from that article :
The reason: there are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as $3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.
I really am not sure who really this Chip Tsao is because he is a nobody (I never heard of him) before he wrote this article. But what really is funny was that in that article he wrote that because his blood is boiling over the news that Manila (Manila, not the Philippines – he might be really mad because his facts aren’t straight!) has just claimed sovereignty over Spratly Island. Because of this issue, he then when on to lecture his Filipina maid – LUISA.
But in last night news, LUISA is not his maid. It is his fathers and his house helps are INDONESIANS. So, is this credible journalism? Oh well. Another thing, according to HK Magazine who issues an apology the article is a satire. Now, are we that dumb not to be able to determine what a satire is ?
Anyway, here is something that I stumbled in Philstar.com and made me smile.
Chip Tsao is in Immigration Watch list. He is banned from entering our country.
