Pre School in Marikina

Posted: March 25th, 2009 | Author: mil3tt3 | Filed under: pre school, summer activities | Tags: , | 15 Comments »

Now that the little girl is turning three this July, I decided to enroll her already in pre school. Many might think that it is still too early for her to go to school but I think she is ready. I always believed that schooling does not depend on the age it depends on the emotional readiness of the child. And its a blessing that right now, there are what we call progressive school wherein the lesson depends on the individual skills of the child.

Lately, I realized how lucky I am to be a stay at home mom. I have all my time dedicated to the little girl and scouting for things that would be good for her. And added to my luck is that our house is surrounded by good pre schools. There are at least five popular free schools that are just walking distance from our place of residence. Including Ingenium where I decided to enroll my little girl.

I was able to take a snap shot of the address and phone number of Ingenium and ISYC Marikina so let me share them with you.

These are the top two choice for me but I opted to enroll the little girl in Ingenium because of its location. It’s not a busy street as compared to Integrated School for Young Children (ISYC) wherein the street where it is located is used by public transpo. And Ingeniun is near our house. When it comes to the tuition fee both are at Php 55K. Although I am not sure with ISYC but for Ingenium I already have their fee for sy 2009 – 2010 and they don’t have any price increase.

I heard Ingenium is a progressive school and ISYC is a mixture of both progressive and traditional. I just wanna ask if in Ingenium do they have in their curriculum preparing their students to go to big school?like a little traditional-way of teaching? Also, ISYC is 60k plus now, and they are still increasing this coming June. Ingenium is still 55k. I need more comments please…

    ysabel,

i suggest you visit the schools personally so that you can really look into their facilities and the way they conduct their classes. When you visit Ingenium they can give you a tour and also a peek on their classes. And about your questions about the way of teaching, in my opinion, they also have a progressive and the traditional. And in terms of preparation for big school, they have a high percentage of kids passing the exam in ateneo, marist and other nearby good schools ( st. scho and assumption).

and i am not sure about the school fees since they would be releasing it by april pa.

    ysabel,

thanks for the suggestion but i am quite happy with ingenium and its close proximity in our house. i don’t want to go far since the travel time might just stressed out my little girl. and of course, i wanted to stick to a school who have already established their name instead of a new one that is on a testing stage.

    Hello Mommies,

My daughter is currently with Kids on Focus (also in Marikina) in Junior Nursery. It was a very good school years back. In fact my son who is now in Ateneo studied there and did not have problems adjusting to the big school (and even the entrance exam was a breeze).

However, we’re thinking of sending my daughter to another school and we’re currently scouting.

Can anyone provide me more information about ISYC?

    Thanks a lot.

    hi daddy leo,

i am sorry but i really cannot give you any information about isyc. i think it’s better to call the school and set up an appointment with them. that’s what I did last year but I never came around to visiting them since I was already impressed with Ingenium which is nearer our house.

    thanks.

    daddy leo,

ISYC is also a good pre-school. The teachers are friendly and accommodating. Tuition fee is P60K, uniform and books are included. No more miscellaneous fees and everytime they have a fieldtrip, included na rin dun.

One on one talaga sila so natututukan ang progress ng bawat student.

    hi mommies and daddies

our daughter went to ISYC for two years (junior and senior nursery) we are very happy with the results, the tuition covers everything from uniforms to books to cost of field trips. Well rounded curriculum and they are transferring to a bigger and better school. I highly recommend ISYC

For those parents who are asking about ISYC – I think its the best pre-school in marikina. I have a kid who is studying there and its her second year at ISYC. I am truly amazed about how my daughter turned out – she speaks english fluently. I can see a marked improvement in my daughter she is responsible and well rounded Although there’s a yearly tuition fee increase but I thinks its worth it….

We recently moved in Marikina and i’m contemplating if i should enroll my son, who’s also turning 3 in July, in a pre school. Unfortunately my wife works in a call center and it’ll just be our son’s yaya who would take him to school. Is it truly worthwhile to enroll him in a pre school at an early age?

    hi daddy ea,

i enrolled my daughter last year (she’s turning 3 then, her birthday is also in july) and that’s because I saw that she is really ready for school. though i chose to enroll her in a progressive school so that the teaching method would be based on what she is capable of. after one year, i think it was worthwhile based on the development i have witnessed.

i am not sure where in marikina you are residing. but if you really want to try and see if your son is ready for school, would recommend you try and visit some preschool within your area. i think marikina has a lot of good school. right now, my little girl is enrolled in small ville montesorri, it’s a new school with a progressive/montesorri approach. it’s located in pinto st. rancho 1. you can drop by the school and the teachers would be glad to give you a tour. they have a page in facebook. if you like to see there facilities.
