I consider my husband my bestfriend. I can talk to him about anything under the sun and I don’t keep any secrets from him. When I am in doubt about a certain decision or situation I am in, all I need to do is talk to him and he would guide me through. I always cherish the conversation we have. And so, it’s a big adjustment on my part when he went abroad for work. It’s a choice we both agreed on because honestly the compensation is really something that you cannot received if you work here in our country. It’s hard being apart and he only goes home for vacation either twice or thrice a year. So we end up calling each other everyday. Which really is not enough. But we have to consider the phone bills.

I was asking the husband what he would give me on my birthday. He won’t be here for the occassion unlike the last few years wherein he make it a point to go home in time for my birthday. So, I told him he should make it up by giving me a very nice birthday gift. haha. Of course, that’s just a joke. I really am not expecting any more gift from him since I feel that everyday is a gift because I have him for a husband. But I know despite the distance he will surely make my special day memorable just like he did this Valentine’s day when I received loads of long stemmed roses. No, he did not order them from ProFlowers Chesapeake but they are beautiful flowers.

I am asking my daughter which she prefer to do this summer. Swimming or ballet lessons. She answered she likes swimmng lessons. So, I try to google the recent schedule of a nearby facility that gives out swimming lessons this summer only to see that it’s my blog in the top of the search engine page and followed by the videos I posted in my youtube account. This leads us ( me and the little girl ) viewing videos after videos of her which I posted two years ago and onwards. We were both laughing as we watched. Oh, I love free online account. Not only are they free, you also don’t have to monitor them. And once you like to used them again, they are still there. I don’t have a copy anymore of those videos so I am so thankful having my youtube account.

Shift + Enter

Facebook has now been a common household name. I think almost everyone who has a computer and have an internet connection has facebook account. And of course if you want to talk something in there you can. Just like asking for a feedback about sensa. What I like about Facebook is that you can share your pictures, videos and other stuff with your contacts. Also, I love the interaction. But sometimes I get irritated by the email notification I get. haha. Oh yeah, I delete them all at once. And since I am irritated of the notification, I take that into consideration when I comment. I make sure I just send one comment. So, I was surprised when one time ( just this week) when I used the enter button and it opens up a new comment box. Uh Oh! I, then learned that a new way to add a new line in your comment you have to used the Shift+enter key. yes, that’s an additional knowledge. haha.

Picture Overload

I am trying to create an AVP right now for the SY 2010 – 2011. And I am so overwhelm because I have a lot of pictures to choose from. I was able to download pics from the FB account of my daughter’s teacher, the school’s FB account and fellow moms. As compared to her previous school which seems to like to hide what they are doing inside the classroom. I don’t like to sound biased but that was one of the reason why I decided to transfer the little girl. I am just happy that the Teachers really take some time to take pictures and post them on Facebook wherein we parents can view them. So now, I am really having a hard time choosing which picture to put in my AVP. Oh well, I have to do that later once work is done.

Movie Maker

I have a lot of time in my hands right now and to keep me from getting bored I am looking for interesting activities to keep me occupied. I know if I am not busy I will get cranky and that’s not a thing I like. Before the moving up of the little girl I was asking my brother to create an AVP that consist of pictures of the little girl in school but unfortunately we did not push for the said project. So, I thought of doing it myself and explore the Movie Maker in Windows. And I am so happy because it’s not really complicated as I thought it would be. Yesterday, I was already compiling the pictures for SY 2010 – 2011, when I thought why not put the videos of my daughter’s performance in the moving up ceremony and then convert it into a file that can be read by our DVD. Alas! I was able to make it! I was able to put the videos together and watch it in our dvd. Though there was a problem with its sound. I thought it was our home theater speakers but as we watched it the sound drift off and on. Then there are times when the DVD stopped. I am not sure if it’s with the conversion or the DVD itself. But i’ll try it again. For now, I am happy because I can store the program into the DVD which the little girl can watch when she’s a grown up. After this I am making her a photobook :) .

No Live Feed!

A day before the moving up ceremony of the little girl an idea dawned on me. Unfortunately, I know I cannot do it because of my current condition and the lack of time. But if I am functioning 100% I would have pushed for it depsite of the time limit. I was thinking of using my router plus the modem of the school so that I can connect via wifi and be online so that the husband can watch the ceremony via YM or skype. Since that was not possible, I settled on using my SMARTBRO. So come Friday, during the moving up ceremony, I tried connecting but I did not get any signal. Seems like the location is a dead spot. Then, I thought of recording the whole ceremony via my laptop but my location is not ideal. We just used the DSLR and the PS digicam. The SLR was with my brother who took pictures while I was holding the digicam for videos. And I am happy that we were able to take a lot of pics and videos.

Free Call and Text Anytime!

I have been nagging the husband to buy an IPHONE. He is using a Nokia phone which we have bought two years ago, I think. My husband love gadgets and loves buying them but not for hiimself but for me and the little girl. So I told him it’s time for him to upgrade and finally he gave in due to the fact that I told him that if he buys an IPHONE he can install either YM or SKYPE and we can text and call each other anytime for free! And yesterday, we started using the facilty. I am one happy wife! You know, it’s hard when you’re husband is away from home and there is a five hour difference between the two of you. Sometimes when I have to make a decision and need to seek her guidance I would have to think twice because of our telephone bills. Now, it’s not a problem anymore. Anytime I want to talk to him I can call him. I can text messages to him about logo gift ideas or something mushy as I miss you and I love you. And what I like most is the fact that he can see us and we can see him while we talk. Oh, I love technology. Of course, I also have to be mindful about the time. I have to consider his sleeping and work time.

Sad News

We are currently watching the news. And it’s really frightening to see what is happening in Japan. And there is also some advisory that the tsunami might hit some parts of the country which are near bodies of water. This recent disaster puts some fear in me. what if an earthquake hit our country? Our location is within what they call “Marikina Fault Line’. But you know what as I think of that possibility I have also this calming presence surround me because I know God would give us only what we can bear. GOD has a plan for each and everyone of us. And I trust GOD with all my heart.

Moms With Apps

I love to search for different application for my daughter’s IPAD. One time while looking for phonics apps that she can play with I came across an app that really got my interest. It like being able to find the cheapest auto insurance after looking after tons of auto insurance around the net. When I read the description I know I have to get it and it’s nice because it’s free. At first I got an error installing it because it can’t be installed directly to the IPAD. I have to setup my itunes in my pc and get it from there. Later, I found out that is because I have not updated the software of my IPAD. I took about three hours for the upgrade.
