Abusing the FEEDS

I have been seeing contest here and there and one of their requirement for their contest is to subscribe to their feeds. I am a little bit disturb by these because I think subscribing to feeds should be done voluntarily when you like the blog or the article that is written on that blog.

Getting Indexed

Posted: August 21st, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: blog tips | Tags: | No Comments »

this matter has never been important to me not until i started reading about SEO. Getting indexed is one way of saying that your blog/site has now been recognized by search engines. And all you have to do is to get a nice ranking or position.

When I started the only way I know how to get indexed is to submit your site/blog to search engines. And then I also tried those sites that offers submission to different search engines. But later when I started my second blog I realized there is another way to get indexed. A simple and easy way. Though it need some patience and requires a little time.

He reminds me of EEYORE

Posted: August 15th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: my thoughts | Tags: | No Comments »

Everyday I always got a good dose of MY FRIENDS TIGGER AND POOH show. In fact more than a good dose, since my little girl have been monopolizing our tv and it is only tuned in to PLAYHOUSE DISNEY for the whole day.

Because of this I got familiar with the characteristics of the cast of my friends tigger and pooh. I realized they are more than cartoon character. Each of them have attitudes that mirrors a normal person. Take Eeyore for example. He reminds me of a friends who is forever wallowing in self pity. I am telling you. everytime I hear Eeyore speaks that friend comes to my mind. haha. lol. He would kill me if he knows I am comparing him to a donkey. hahahaha. One of eeyore’s line ‘Thanks for noticing me!’

Do you Reciprocate Visits?

Posted: August 10th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: meme | Tags: | No Comments »

I have been a constant player on different memes around the net. Actually I do memes on a daily basis on my other blogs because I enjoy it plus the fact that it gives me quality visits.

But I met some frustrations along the way that sometimes I just want to forget this meme and move on with my blogging. There are a lot of bloggers nowadays who join meme because of the traffic. And that’s the only reason. No matter how many times you visit them and leave them comments they would never reciprocate your visit. It is frustrating and seems unfair.

Free WordPress Themes

A theme can make or break your blog. Believe it or not. For free wordpress blog they have limited themes. But for a free blogger blog they have a lot of good themes (so it’s crime not to change your theme unless of course you are having that BX error). But the reason why I preferred wordpress over blogger is that for me wordpress themes are a lot more elegant that blogger. Of course now there are a lot of designers who convert wordpress themes into blogger.

Ping Your Blog

Posted: August 1st, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: blog tips | Tags: | No Comments »

When I was just starting to establish my wordpress blog in my own domain and have not yet been familiar with SEO, I did one thing that I know would help me. GOOGLE and BROWSE. I check all blogs that give tips to help my blog get a good position in the net. One of the thing that I learn about is PING.

According to wiki, ping is an XML-RPC-based push mechanism by which a weblog notifies a server that its content has been updated. During my search I was able to get a list of ping services and put them in my wordpress blog via SETTINGS – > WRITING – > UPDATE SERVICES. Put the following list of ping services :
