Worse

Which is worse?

Finding a book you love and then hating everything else you try by that author, or

Reading a completely disappointing book by an author that you love?

Either way. Both can’t good. Because it means you wasted not only your money on the book but also your time and energy to read it and then ending up disappointed. You know what’s worst? It’s looking for a good book with a lot of good feedback only to end up not being able to buy it because it is out of stock. lol.

1. Are you currently reading more than one book?

Yes. I was reading John Grisham’s The Painted House and got a bit bored. I don’t know why. So I decided to read Jennifer Cruisie’s Crazy for You.

2. If so, how many books are you currently reading?

Just two. But I have two more waiting on the wings.

3. Is this normal for you?

Reading two books at the same time? No. I always finished the book before diverting my attention to another.

4. Where do you keep your current reads?

BTT : Author’s Talking

Do you read any author’s blogs? If so, are you looking for information on their next project? On the author personally? Something else?

Come to think of it this question made me realized that I haven’t even seen any of my favorite author’s blog (if they have one). Mainly because I really don’t have time to spare. But if given the time love to read other’s blog to know them personally. And to get updates on what they are currently working and their thoughts. Oh, I forgot. From time to time I get to visit Paulo Coehlo’s blog and I am pleased everytime I read his writing. He is one of the great writers I like. So maybe from today onwards I might be snooping around the net in search of my favorite author’s blog. lol.

Have you ever been put off an author’s books after reading a biography of them? Or the reverse – a biography has made you love an author more?

I think I give more value on the book rather than the author so I don’t really give a big deal about the biography. But if there would come a time that I would hear something bad about the author and his/her belief that contradict what I believe in I would think twice on purchasing the book.

The Booking Through Thursday is a bit different today. First, Deb asked the participants to read this :
Books Gone Wild: The Digital Age Reshapes Literature.

Second. Stop and think about it for moment. Computers and digital media are changing everything we do these days, whether we realize it or not, and that includes our beloved books.

Third. DISCUSS!

Tell us what you think. Do you have an ebook reader? Do you read ebooks on your computer? Do you hate the very thought? How do you feel about the fact that book publishing is changing and facing much the same existential dilemma as the music industry upon the creation of MP3s?

Since “Inspiration” is (or should) the theme this week … what is your reading inspired by?

Most of the time my reading is inspired by my mood when I browsed through the books I am going to buy in the bookstore. Also, I also inspired by my quest for additional knowledge regarding a particular subject. For example, when I was diagnosed with LUPUS, I started collecting books about it and everything about natural healing/curing oneself. And then when I got depressed because of it I move to reading inspirational books.

My first Boooking Through Thursday for this year. And a first for this blog.

So, today’s question?

  • What songs … either specific songs, or songs in general by a specific group or writer … have words that you love?
  • I have one song in mind when I read this question. I love the song Better Days by Dianne Reeves.

  • Why?
  • I love the words on the song and everytime I am down I would just remember them and got myself motivated.

Here are the words that I love the most.
